A visit to the awe inspiring Marine Art Museum at Winnona, Minnesota charmed the artist in me. Who knew a small wayside museum would hold grand artistic splendors created by masters such as Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet…!!!
I was fortunate to be the first one to admire some recently added exhibits, informed an assistant curator. I marveled and oohed and aahed over the visual delights all around me.
The visit filled me with a passion to create, leading me on to paint the bar girl (impressionism, above) using water color for the first time. I also went on to draw two sketches.
The artistic frenzy has still not left me and I guess I will have to create more to get over it.
The Winona Marine Art Museum, situated along the scenic Mississipi river has left me inspired and wowed! I bought an amazing book on Impressionism. Will write more about it sometime soon. This last one by Morisot is an exhibit at the museum.
Hindi film actresses like Hema Malini, Saira Banu, Sadhana, Asha Parekh, Mumtaz, Sharmila Tagore went bolder and experimental with dress and make up during the era. Ladies extensively used winged eyeliners while beehives and fringe cut went on to be a rage. Old teen age pictures of our mothers say it all.
I have once again used pastel pencils and chalks here. As I worked on it continuously for about two hours, I felt I needed a lot of practice to understand the tricks and techniques for blending colours. Do you have any idea how to blend pastels?
Tom the turkey was desperate🙁. He wanted to escape from being eaten during the Thanksgiving feast on November 24th😖. He sought refuge in a kindergarten class😓. The teacher, Miss E was very kind and asked the class to disguise him🤓. Little Adi had a plan and he disguised him as a spiderman with the help of his mom🕷.
Now, how would you disguise Tom the Turkey and save him from being eaten✍️️? Tom may get recognised in the spiderman costume so we need many more ideas💡.
Help Tom the turkey and be a hero😇!

I have been in a pensive mood lately! Felt like reconnecting with my old friend – Art. It has been long since I painted something. This time, I thought of trying pastel pencils. They are safer with kids around.
Love and light to all of you! Stay happy and safe!
My aunt is a lovely artist and I drew inspiration from her works. Even my sisters loved to draw figures and landscapes but I primarily focussed on the face, specifically the eye!
These days I hardly paint because colours demand a lot of time and effort. And also because I don’t want my kids to get supercreative and make artworks all over the house. But I do sketch a lot whenever inspiration strikes me.
Today, I felt like sketching the eye and I drew some random sketches in about fifteen minutes.
Here are the pictures…hope you will like them😀
