Happy 2020

Dear,

The year 2020 marks not only the beginning of a new year but also the birth of a brand new decade. Outwardly, we are surrounded by sameness. Same life, same people and same routine. So, what is fresh about 2020? The freshness lies in our enthusiastic ‘approach’ to the New Year with all our resolutions, promises and hopes of a fresh new start.

New Year is really all about our openness to it! We are willing so we make things happen in the beginning. But then the old routine life and mundane existence takes over and we fall back to the old pattern. If we stay open and our approach stays the same for the rest of the year, great things could happen. Magic, really! So, my resolution this year is to be enthusiastic and open to all dimensions of new possibilities.

And my wishes for you are not restricted to just one day of the year! Here is hoping that may you stay open and receive more and more bliss, love, peace and prosperity every moment of your life! May you be your highest self!

Happy 2020 and…..always!

Love,

Shivangi

Dreams of 2019

InkedNew Year Quote_LI

Dears,

I do not know what 2018 brought into your life. May be joy, may be challenges or perhaps, both! But I’m sure, for all of us, it brought lessons that will stay with us for a lifetime. One lesson that has stayed with me is this conviction – you’ll never lose if you’re truly passionate about a dream. Outwardly, even if there was absolute failure, your dedication will live on and kind of form a chain reaction, leading to the ‘one’ who will eventually make your dream come true. The ‘one’ may be your child, family, a random person or event. But it will come true! The important thing is to stay true and passionate to your dream. So, here is wishing you big dreams and possibilities in 2019. May even the sky doesn’t limit you!

Love and peace,

Shivangi

Small Things#13 – Flying Kisses

Few days back, I had a delightful talk with the little one. I asked him, “When you, Vava (big brother) and Papa go to school and office, who will take care of mamma?” Pat came the reply, “Mamma, my kisses will take care of you! I’ll leave enough kisses flying around at home and send some from school too. The kisses will sit near the kitchen window and make you feel happy.” I laughed at the heart warming thought.

As the season of merriment and the New Year arrives, I wish we all receive such pure, luminous baby kisses in abundance to protect us from all evil and darkness. Wishing you many, many of such flying kisses always!

Lost in ‘Lost’

We have had the strangest New Year celebration this year. Since morning till late night, I and my husband, sat devouring the mystery TV series ‘Lost’ with relish. We texted ‘Happy New Year’ to most of our loved ones, called up a few, finished house work at a super fast pace… just to get ‘Lost’.

A friend of mine had told us that ‘Lost’ was one of the most popular mystery series of all times back in 2000s and we went for it right after Christmas. Since then, we have been watching, eating, drinking and sleeping ‘Lost’.

The little ones are getting freaked out by our weird newfound love for TV but we can’t help it. Every episode leaves us wanting for more. The great thing is the series got over in 2010 and it is all available on Netflix. So, we just need to keep watching non-stop till we reach season 6. And then we will know the secrets of the island where Flight 817 crashed and the fate of survivors. From what I have heard, the serial had lasted for 10 long years, that means… a lot of watching!
Initially, the series reminded me of the popular Manoj Kumar film ‘Gumnaam’ but by the time we reached Season 3, I knew it was different from any other film or serial.

The ensemble cast, the dialogues and the great twists and turns are superb. Hats off to the writer!

The characters I am most impressed with are the dimpled rogue, Sawyer, Hurley Burly and Jack, the doctor dude.

And here are some of the memorable drawls by Sawyer  if you want to recall those ‘Lost’ days:

Sawyer to Kate: “Baby, I am tied to a tree in the jungle of mystery. I just got tortured by a damn spinal surgeon and a genuine Iraqi. Of course I’m serious.”
Sawyer to Jack: “A doctor playing golf. Woo, boy howdy! Now I’ve heard everything. What’s next? A cop eating a doughnut?

Sawyer, after squashing a tree frog in his hand: “Add a little ranch and it’ll taste just like chicken.”

Sawyer to Sun: You gonna lecture us about lying, Betty? From the look on his face even your old man here didn’t know you speak English!”

Well, well, well….I hope you know we just need to reach season 6 to get our curiousity quenched. Till then… I  don’t mind ‘getting lost’. 🙂

A Short Laughing Message for 2016

My Dear,

2015 slipped away like a fine muslin cloth! It is now time to bid Good Bye to the old year and welcome the brand New Year 2016. My first year of blogging has been incredibly delightful, all thanks to You! I have a world of good wishes for You but primarily, I wish You a year full of laughter. 😀

The Sanskrit book ‘Dasarupa’, a treatise on Dramaturgy, lists six types of laughter. They are:

  1. Smita – A sweet faint Smile
  2. Hasita – A smile slightly revealing tips of the teeth
  3. Vihasita – Gentle laugh in which mouth opens a little
  4. Upahasita – A little more pronounced laughter with some body movement
  5. Apahasita – Booming laughter that brings tears to eyes
  6. Atihasita – Doubling with uproarious laughter

I hope and pray that the New Year brings to you abundance of Joy every day – Smita with tea in the morning, Hasita in the breakfast hour, Vihasita during lunch, Upahasita post lunch, Apahasita in the coffee break and Atihasita during dinner time! Laughter, laughter and more laughter….:)

Stay blessed and healthy friends, see you in the New Year!
