About Me!

My Dear Reader,

Hello from Shivangi and thank you for reading a little about me. It is really good to see you here! I am from India, moved to the U.S. a few years back with hubby and a kid in tow. The family grew as another baby boy came along and recently there was the latest addition to the family – an adopted puppy, Happy Singh. (BTW I no longer look like the pic up there :).)

I am glad that I am on WordPress and writing for you – an amazing person who has taken the trouble to come over and read about me! I love stories and all genres of storytelling. We cannot escape stories, it is everywhere, and each one of us have a story to tell. Therefore, the stories you will read here are mine and may be yours, in essence. I write about a myriad of things – spirituality, beauty, art, books, films, experiences and so on. Apart from writing, I love sketching, reading, travelling and watching films. By the grace of Krishna, I am an Indie Author now, after writing five ebooks and two hardcover books for kids. From time to time, I offer #freebedtimestories for kids and short stories in other genres as well. I am on Amazon and Goodreads and soon, my books will be available in the Indie Minnesota anthology.

I hope to continue writing for the little ones. I also design T-shirts and merch on various platforms. Do check out my quick links tree to find books and merch stuff.

It is my sixth year on WordPress now and I have enjoyed and learned a lot. Follower count doesn’t affect my writing but if you do choose to Follow Me and connect with me, I will feel appreciated and immensely grateful plus you will not miss out on the free stuff. (Twitter – @karunakshi, Facebook – Page,  Instagram – storiesbyshivangi)

Do take the poll before leaving, your opinion is valuable to me. Wishing you good health and happiness always. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. So kind of you Nimi for nominating me. I am truly honoured and humbled. I had already been nominated by Vagabond Velda last month…but it still means so much that you took me into consideration.
      Cheers and be well,
      Shivangi

  2. Just to let you know that I’ve nominated you for The Creative Blogger Award. I would be delighted if you accept, but if you are unable to do so, that’s OK. The rules are on my post :

Hi, Shivangi. Once again, I know how busy you are, so if you’re unable to accept, that’s OK. But, I want you to know that I find your writing extremely creative, so this award suits you perfectly. I nominated you for the shorter version, which takes much less time to do – but if you’d prefer the first one, which also asks for 5 facts about yourself, feel free to do that one. Millie 🙂

    1. I am honoured Millie, thank you so much for believing in me and finding my works creative. And then coming from you it is a huge compliment😀. The gesture is so beautiful. I will accept the shorter version and write a post in a while. Thanks again and you know what, I love castles too, only I have never seen them in real life😀

  3. hello Shivangi,
    Good points:
    1) You posted your pic on this about page – this relates visitors with you and recollects your blog better. Few people hide identity and it may generally don’t help.
    2) Your first para on this about page makes a delight and welcome to readers.
    3) You added a context based pic in your blog posts contents, it inspires reading.
    3) Short paras in most blog posts, it makes reading better and comfortable.
    4) You articulate your ideas/thoughts in a much simple language rather using tough vocabulary/phrases.

    Bad points:
Few blog posts are little lengthy overall, you may recheck on how you may make it little small. Any blog post readable in one screen without scrolling is the best.

Look shivangi, I shared my thoughts with high optimism for you to have great success.

  5. Let me tell I have just taken to writing and I am myself surprised leave aside my known friends and people.
As you say :”We cannot escape stories, each one of us have a story to relate! I have learnt that life is all about stories of all kinds..but it is up to us to categorise it..finished, unfinished, tragic, comic… Our life story is what we make of it!”
When the time comes it is right and it is right because the almighty has thought it right.
    Grab the time.
I keep saying- the busy guys have always got time.
My Fondest Regards and Best Wishes in all your Endeavours.

I am afraid I will not be able to acknowledge it in a separate post because of time constraints but nevertheless I feel on top of the world. You are one of the finest bloggers around and I never miss your works. Coming from you the awards mean a lot. Big thanks😀😀😀

    1. I am honoured Susan, thank you for nominating me. I appreciate this very much. You write beautifully and to be chosen by you means a lot.
But it is unfortunate that time does not permit me to accept it publicly in a blog post. I have an infant and a toddler to care for 24/7 … So hope you understand the rush. I get very little time to write.
Nevertheless, a big Thank You for the honour😀😀😀

  7. Hello, Shivangi. I read a few stories from your professional writing when visiting under my other blog at Tracesofthesoul and you truly have talent. I loves stories too…we can teach so much as well with stories. I wish I had written some stories I made up for my children when they were little. With small ones time is tricky so enjoy your wee ones, they grow so fast and even if it just a paragraphy, a poem, a sentence of reflection…write a tiny bit each day if you can. Namaste, Cheryl-Lynn aka Tournesol (for my poetry)
