The Onset of Autumn

Notice how the leaves of this tree are changing colour! This lovely tree, located right in front of my apartment, announces the onset of Autumn every year. Soon, Minnesota will deck up for a colouful and breathtaking Fall.

And this announcer tree will turn a glorious red at the peak of the season and will look like this – see pic below. (Clicked last Fall.)

How well John Keats said – Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun; Conspiring with him how to load and bless With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run….

Ah, bliss!

  1. In most US states ( saw it in southern states) the newspapers publish names of places where you can have an enthralling view of this phenomenon called “fall colours”. if you are in George or North Carolina, you can go to a village called Helen where the main livelihood is tourists coming to see fall colours. The place has quaint horse buggers and eating places just for visitors.

  2. Autumn has always been my favourite season. The colours are just so beautiful. We have a few trees starting to turn golden, too, but it will probably be a few more weeks before we have a vivid show of colour. We tend to have more golds and browns here, and very few trees tuning red, as you do. Nick and I have wanted to visit New England ‘In the fall’ to see the glorious displays there. Perhaps we’ll make it one day. I love that Keats poem, too. Lovely post, Shivangi. 😀
