I was on a cleaning spree, ruthlessly discarding whatever stuff had not been used since the past six months. I had a huge pile of things around me which others would have found useful. But a useless little plastic bag made me stop.
Printed on it was the name of my beloved home town and my country (India)….thousands and thousands of miles from here! I tried to put it away but just couldn’t. Finally, I folded it neatly and put it safely in a drawer.
Why, I still ask myself? Have you felt like this…lately?

Shivangi, I think your decision to keep the bag shows a certain beauty of spirit. That little, plastic bag was the catalyst for remembering the love you have for your beloved town and country. And, that thought filled your heart and gave you comfort. I’m glad you kept that little bag. It has great worth if it can conjure happy thoughts of a meaningful place. 😊❤️

We are emotionally attached with our home town or country. Maintain the same always.

Some items lying unnoticed in putaway spaces can never be eliminated as they acquire a life of their own, spreading their sentimental tentacles to firmly entrench their position in our minds and hearts. We have moved around seven times across different locations in India and outside spanning a career of 37 years, and some objects have found permanent places in our lives . It happens… 😋

Seven times!! That must be so hard! And how beautifully you said – these things acquire a life of their own – never thought of it! Thank you so much for your great comment😀🙏🏻

I would have done the same thing. Some things are hearts just won’t let us part with.
