I have always been a little absent minded in my ways. Those who know me closely have accepted my limitation and tolerated quite a lot of embarrasing situations with me. I try to be more focus, alert and active but to no avail.
Moreover, I am butterfingered so I often don’t trust myself when I serve food to people in social gatherings. I can drop or spill food on anyone and everyone. And yes I often have the tendency to get over excited for no reason at all and use wrong expression to greet someone.
I guess all of us go through such mad moments but embarassingly, I have been a frequent victim. Well, here are a few of those incidents that left me oh-so-red in the face. Read on frens, and have a good laugh at my expense😀. I will start with the most recent ones.
- The teacher at my son’s preschool was quite at a loss of words when she asked me to sign out on the iPad and I signed with a ball pen on the iPad!!!
-
My guests at a recent party almost freaked out when they noticed that I had served them Olive Oil instead of Apple fruit juice.
-
When my eldest was born in July, I immediately messaged everyone informing the good news. Most of them replied and questioned – why was I late by a month in informing??? I realised I had written – June instead of July in the message.
-
Once I messaged my boss instead of my colleague that the boss was going on leave for a few days so happy time ahead!! While I prayed that the message somehow disappeared before getting delivered, the reply from the boss was – ‘Is this message meant for me??’ I was aghast!!
-
I dreamt that I had thrown my brothers’ slippers outside the boundary wall of our house. Well, when I woke up I actually threw it and told my astonished brother that atleast one of my dreams had come true today. He threw mine too!!
-
At a grand wedding reception in Winters, I received glares from all around me while I was chatting with my sister. I thought I was looking good until I noticed I was about to pour my tea right into the ear of a seated guest, who was trying hard to maintain his regal composure and dignity.
-
A snack vendor in India shouted at me rudely – ‘Oye Madam’, while I was on phone with my mother. I noticed he was right to be rude. People were moving away from me as I was emptying my half eaten plate ( golgappas) on his pile of fresh eatables instead of the dustbin. I apologised profusely and fled.
-
Once I saw a man frantically running towards the car I was seated in, with a wide eyed look and threatening gesture. I was engrossed in reading something. But instinctively, I knew there was something amiss. I had absent mindedly entered his car and was sitting comfortably there!! Before I could rush out of the car, he stood right in front of me with his hands on hips. I understood… it was time for another big apology!!
These are just a few incidents but there have been innumerable such mad moments in my life. The great thing about these funny incidents are that one always laughs heartily after the moment passes. And remembers it for a long long time with a smile!
Even my father in law had experienced one of such moments not long ago and we all had a good laugh over it. He had gone to a lunch buffet at a restaurant that had glassses all around. The waiters were serving too. In front of the salad tray, he went on to ask his reflection to serve him some more salad!
Well, I guess you all laughed and that was my sole purpose in sharing these incidents. I am sure you all must have experienced these mad moments, do share here if you can.
